So, it's been just over 2 weeks since the basement disaster that resulted in total voice loss. For the last few days, I've been able to sing just a little bit, but with the quality of voice I've got going on, all I can manage is some Melissa Etheridge songs. (If only I could have my whole vocal range AND this sexy rasp in my voice at the same time.)

I had planned to set up the gypsy tent on Saturday, but on Friday I got a text from one of my beloved teenagers, saying the basement was flooded. JOY.

When we arrived, we figured out that the reason it flooded was that a single pair of pants and a shirt was put in the washer, and that wonderful machine from Nineteen-Seventy-Something had bounced the drain hose right out of the wall, and drained onto the floor. And drained and drained.

Luckily, I had some masks from working during the week at Reflexology (while still fighting with a delightful cough) so I wore one in the basement on Saturday, while filling garbage bags with wet items.

The Universe just decided that it was TIME to gut the basement I guess. Who am I to argue?

So, there's still things for me to touch and consider and organize down there, but almost all of the floor got cleared. The Shapeshifter mopped hot vinegar in water onto the naked concrete floor, and we've been running a dehumidifier so much, that I'm sure the PUC is making evil genius tenty fingers in delight at what the bill is going to be at the end of the month...

But, clean basement.

And bitchin' rock n roll voice.

Freddie Krueger.

Freddie Krueger. Remember this fictional character?

He ruined horror movies for me forever.

My 8 and 9 year old self used to watch the occasional horror film at a sleepover. Around aged 10, the world introduced Freddie, and he was the most TERRIFYING horror dude ever. Because he got into your dreams.

Dreams were so vivid for me, from a little wee kid. I would confused dreams with what really happened in waking life all the time. By the time I hit 10, I was starting to enjoy the dreams, write out the dreams, interpret the dreams. I had some VERY present  and familiar 'dream friends' (which later I began to realize where guides.)

Most horror film 'baddies' I could handle. They were ridiculous to me. Freddie was some SERIOUS SH*T. Because THAT DUDE gets you when you are most vulnerable. He attacked the spirit. Although I don't recall the movies going into spirit too much. But that's how I interpreted it.

I also started to realize at that point how fear can create, and how love can conquer. And how I had to be SUPER careful about what I put into my head during the day. Because I made things happen. At night. In the dark. In my sleep.

Then, I began to read Stephen King Novels. Because CLEARLY I had some stuff to deal with in this Fear/Love thing. There's a story he wrote about a bunch of Vampires and at some point someone has a cross and they are holding it up and it's repelling the Vampire. Some sort of word play happens, and the man doesn't have the cross anymore, and the man loses belief that the vampire can be repelled.... and just before the vampire eats him, he reveals that the power is in HIM, has nothing to do with the cross...

So, I think I was 12 when I read that book, so I'm sure someone will let me know which story it was... But THAT was the wake up point, I think.. .OH, THAT'S where the power comes from. Love. Belief. Trust.

This long blog sort of has become a run on sentence, a half assed essay. That's okay. Maybe we can have some discussion about manifesting, creating negativity, and how love protects and keeps us safe...

Lookit Mah Office! Psychic Tarot Readings Downtown Midland Ontario

So, there are still things to go up on the walls (Like the heavy clay sun, and the sun mirror in the picture below) but, it sure is nice to have the office space for readings!

Saturday and Sunday readings are THE BEST. My new office space is super relaxed for me, I can be as loud as the voices need me to be. The readings have been fast and furious!

The office space is small, but it's big enough! If the reiki table is out, the chairs and tarot desk have to get tucked into a corner. I'm excited to get some paintings up on the walls, and get the books in that I have for sale.

This is where the magic happens, folks.

I am Published!

It's been a while since I've had anything published anywhere (even my books at Lulu are a few years old now!)

I just got published at Elephant Journal. A little piece I wrote called "I Dreamed of You & it Came True". I"m SUPER excited about it!

Just a little something I wanted to share with all of YOU! It is a little narration of something that happened to me last week. I met a man from my dreams, in real life. Yes. This stuff happens to me.

The new office has been an absolute DELIGHT to read from. Sundays are my FAVOURITE days. We are relaxed, the energy of the day is laid back, and usually there's enough time between reads that we can really take our time getting ALL of the messages out for you.

Pay What You Can Energy Healing, Midland Ontario

The new office! Four more days! I'm excited!

How do we all feel about pay-what-you-can Energy Healing sessions?

This is something I've wanted to do for a very long time. I have the reiki table, I now have the space. I'm feeling SO ready. My ideas are to either make one day a week, or perhaps one day a month, open for Pay-What-You-Can sessions. What do you think? Other than that, energy work would have a regular day to day price.

The energy work works well alongside my psychic and tarot readings so very well. Having a private room, in an office building (that ISN'T my home!) makes me feel like it's time!

Office FOUND!

The lease is SIGNED!  The office is one of 13, within a cooperative type space.

13 different offices that each lock for security, one communal waiting area, and one communal washroom. Free parking at the back of the building, and metered spots on the road at the front, that are only paid meteres Monday to Friday, 9 - 5.

I DO believe I was the first to sign and commit. My office number is 4! Which will be wonderful for HEALING. I have been sore about giving up my old office space a few years ago. Healing is in this thing for me.

The rent is ridiculously reasonable.

It's in a basement, but not a full basement.. I have a WINDOW facing the street! And I made a decal for it.

  
I also have an office window that looks into the reception area. I made a poster for that, too.

Very exciting stuff. I'll be able to book weekend readings now, and be more in control of my hours!

The Universe has put this together beautifully. I take possession August 1st. I think I should be ready for readings inside fairly quickly. Right now, I only  need to find a sturdy table, that is not too big, but big enough for my favourite spread. (Celtic Cross!)

Thrilled! As soon as I'm set up, there'll be an open house, and a 10  min for $10 buck special.

June 12, 13, 14 Psychic Fair, Midland Ontario

In Midland Ontario, there will be a Psyschic Fair at the Best Western. June 12, 13 and 14. The admission is $5 to get in, and from there you also pay an additional fee to see the psychics at the fair at the rates they choose. 

Lori-Grace is a local reader who is available in Midland at the office on King Street on Thursdays, and for individual reads and house parties on the weekends at a time that is convenient for you and your friends.

A half hour read is a flat $30.

It was a wonderful day for readings. I always feel BAD when people weep when they don't expect it. But, I also feel happy that we touch the beginning of their healing journeys in these readings. I felt all the love!

Midland Ontario WINTERFEST Tarot Readings!

You have NO IDEA what a big deal this is for me. The phrase 'War Room' ... In some of my magical/meditative workings, I GO to a place that I call the War Room. Although I haven't been there in ages. I guess it's time to go back and see what's happening.

The room is mostly enclosed (aside from the extra wide door.) and I needed to have a chat with all the STUFF and old photos to make sure that no one was going to try to just 'come on in' and have chats.

I did 7 readings last night (Friday, from 5 to 8), and TODAY, I'm there from 9 to 3. Seven hours!

I'm up early to do some stretches, prepare some food, and drink the tea and get breakfast one AND two into me before leaving.

The museum is full of artists (and so many familiar faces!). There REALLY was a party atmosphere going on last night! I'm eager for all the connections today!

I did some awesome readings last night (and totally went over the 10 minute limit with most of them! Ofcourse.) I'm feeling pretty revved up and excited for today!

Wording Your Tarot Question Well in 2014

When ever I get email inquiries or readings, I always stress to the querent to word your question in such a way that gives me direction WITHOUT giving me any back story or hints. It makes me feel like I"m cheating.

However, it is helpful for you to give me some sort of question instead of requesting a general life read. Why? Because my guides like to give the spiritual answer. They'll move directly to the spiritual reason that things are happening, and often that's not what we are looking for! Sometimes we want touchable, measurable answers.

I find good questions start with thinking about what
has been foremost on your mind, or something that you've been giving some thought to solving.
And then asking things like:

 "What is most important to know about this situation?"
"What is the best path to follow in this situation?"
"Am I already on the right path?"
"What am I supposed to be learning spiritually from this situation?"
"What is the path of least resistance in this situation?"
"What is the path for the greatest good in this situation?"

These sort of questions help us get RIGHT to the heart of the matter, without giving me any hints.
